Keeping the Love You Find: A Workshop for Therapists
Therapists are seeing how valuable this workshop is for deepening the exploration of the "shadow" aspects (denied, disowned etc.) of their work with themselves and their clients. This is an intensive, two day workshop appropriate for singles or married individuals, who want to unlock their relational agendas and more fully understand their shadow and defenses that block love from fully flowing.

February 29- March 2, 2008
Friday 7pm to 9pm, Sat 8:30am to 6pm, Sun 8:30am to 4pm
Coronada Condominium Clubhouse/office by the pool
7007 Highway 70 South Nashville, TN
Nashville, TN (Bellevue)
Sponsored by
The Nashville Association of Imago Relationship Therapists
and
Nashville Psychotherapy Institute
Led by Jill Fein Baker, LCSW
Assisted by Rod Kochtitzky, M.Div.
This workshop brings into awareness your unconscious childhood hurts and the character traits you have developed to protect yourself from those wounds. You will understand how the wounds and defenses you have developed reappear and are replayed in intimate adult relationships. You will be given new communication tools and a chance to develop a personal growth plan that will help you attract and keep the love you find. The workshop includes lectures, guided imageries, written exercises and small group process. A systematic workbook is provided for your use during and after the workshop. While you will be invited to participate and to build a supportive group atmosphere, you will not be pressured into unwelcome disclosure. Confidentiality is maintained in a safe and comfortable environment.
What You Can Expect As A Therapist:
Learn new concepts and skills to use with clients in your practice.
See why the Imago Relational paradigm is so powerful for working with individuals (as well as couples and groups), while doing your own personal growth work.
•Access the unconscious relationship agenda
•Explore how old survival strategies from childhood trigger pain in current relationships
•Learn a process that transforms frustrations into opportunities for personal growth
•Examine how projections impact on the ability to be relational
•Uncover the "shadow" and develop ways to move towards a more integrated self
What You Can Expect Personally:
*Self Discovery
Discover why you are always attracted to similar types of people. Understand the connection between the frustrations you’ve experienced in intimate relationships and your frustrations in childhood. Recognize your past wounds and defenses which you use to protect yourself from being hurt again.
* Healing Past Wounds
You will have opportunities to process the healing of past wounds and you will get a chance to “say goodbye” to former love partners. As you release old feelings you will be able to look forward to the future and begin to get over your fears.
*New Relationship Skills
You will get to practice effective skills to help you break the cycle of negative relating. You will see how you inadvertently sabotage relationships to protect yourself from unconscious fears and anticipated hurts. The tools you learn will help you understand conflict in your relationships and how to turn conflict into an opportunity for healing and growth.

About Jill Fein Baker, LCSW
Jill is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Illinois), a member of the Academy of Clinical Social Workers (a national accreditation) with a Masters in Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
In 1989, after seeing Harville Hendrix on the Oprah show, she attended his “Getting the Love You Want” workshop for couples. “Like many wives I dragged my reluctant husband to the workshop so that Harville could fix him. Soon I found out how much work I had to do. Of course, that was really a blessing in disguise, because I didn't even like the person I had become in that marriage, but I didn't know how not to be that. I was fascinated by the Imago therapy and tools and realized it had immense potential benefit, both personally and professionally. I eagerly began training with Dr. Hendrix.”
Jill was certified as an Imago therapist by Dr. Hendrix in June of 1990, one of the first five therapists in the Chicago area to do so. Together with some of those colleagues, they founded the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy of Greater Chicago, a professional training and support organization. Jill is recognized as one of five key people in developing and revising this “Keeping” workshop material. (www.jillfeinbaker.com)
